The Artist's House's interiors are characterised by a spacious ground floor, designed to inspire creativity and relaxation. Here, large windows flood the space with natural light, creating a perfect setting for relaxing and socialising together on the comfortable sofas, after a day of exploring the Borgo Pignano estate. With high beamed ceilings, large glass skylight and terracotta floors, as well as the unique wood-burning fireplace, the property oozes traditional style. Nearby, a country style kitchen and indoor dining area will have everything you need to prepare and enjoy homemade dishes. The owner's of the estate are art enthusiasts, and this villa is a nod to their passion, with displays of characterful pieces with inspiration from the estate, found throughout.

The natural beauty that envelops The Artist's House extends to its outdoor spaces. Head towards the main terrace, where a wooden veranda creates a shaded area ideal for tranquil alfresco lunches. Nestled within the woodlands, discover a peaceful lounging area, ideal for reading, meditation, or simply a traditional afternoon tea or apéritif. Within the gardens you'll also find its private, heated swimming pool, offering a refreshing escape during warm summer days. The Artist's House comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests across two lovely bedrooms. On the upper floor, guests will find the master bedroom, featuring its own bathroom, ensuring privacy and convenience. From here, step out onto the private terrace and immerse yourself in the breathtaking views of the surrounding woodlands. This outdoor space is perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or unwinding with a glass of Tuscan wine as the sun sets. The ground floor houses a cosy en-suite double bedroom adorned with a Napoleonic sleigh bed, offering a touch of historical elegance.

Being part of the Borgo Pignano estate, guests at The Artist's House can benefit from the services and facilities of the estate. Location

The Borgo Pignano Estate is found in a prime location, in the heart of Tuscany, amidst stunning rolling hills and majestic countryside. This historical country estate offers 750 acres of seclusion and serenity within its private grounds. The Artist's House enjoys a peaceful position on the estate, nestled in an oak and beech copse at only 200m from the main building and its array of services. This prime location provides the perfect balance for those seeking a private retreat with the option to explore everything the estate has to offer.

For days exploring outside the estate, the popular medieval hillside town of Volterra is 20 minutes away or alternatively San Gimignano can be reached in half an hour. Here, you can discover the local history as well as finding a good choice of restaurants and shops. Also within an easy reach are the Vineyards of Chianti, renowned cities of Siena (40 minutes) and Pisa (1 hour) and Tuscany's coastline (1 hour). The Tuscan capital of Florence, famous for its cultural offering, shopping and impressive architecture, is 1 hour 15 away, by car.

Getting to Borgo Pignano is convenient from Pisa airport (75 km) or Florence (70 km) with other regional airports also a possibility too.

The Borgo Pignano Estate has two main restaurants for its guests. The highlight is Villa Pignano, run by Michelin starred Cher Cavallini, and awarded one of few Michelin Green stars. The menu combines an innovative and contemporary interpretation of the traditional Tuscan cuisine. From meat to seafood, everything is locally sourced from Italy, served in a classy dining area. During summer, the estate also features an alfresco restaurant, perfect for an informal and relaxed experience, offering a varied menu suitable for adults and children alike. Alternatively, during spring and fall, Borgo Pignano also offers the Kitchen Community Table, located in the main building's original kitchen and perfect for special occasions.

The Wellness Centre & Pools

Outside, Borgo Pignano features a heated infinity pool, with views over the Tuscan countryside, loungers, parasols and an outdoor bar and pool garden. There is a separate pool for children under 12 yrs. Borgo Pignano's Wellness Center, found in the former winery, offers a unique spa experience. Carved from limestone, it features a sauna, steam bath, and massage rooms where treatments use oils made from local flowers, plants, and herbs to promote well-being. Guests can unwind with restorative herbal teas and, in the summer, enjoy alfresco treatments in a secluded spot. There's also a fully-equipped gym. The land cultivated around Borgo Pignano supplies a significant portion of the ingredients used in their kitchens and cosmetic products. They grow olives, cereals, and grains from ancient seed stocks, which are used to create organic flours, pastas, herbs, jams, and honeys, ensuring rich nutrients and traditional flavours. The estate also produces fruits, nuts, seeds, and cold-pressed Tuscan olive oil, along with feed for their animals, while soaps and toiletries are crafted from the flowers and herbs they grow. Guests are invited to explore the 2.5 acre vegetable garden to see first-hand how they cultivate these heritage varieties, promoting a self-supporting cycle and offering the freshest ingredients.
